We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one.
There can be no 'plan B' because there is no 'planet B.'
Make Cities and Human Settlements Inclusive, Safe, Resilient and Sustainable
UN Sustainable Development Goal 11
Our activities depend on the generosity of people like you. Your donation helps communities regenerate and achieve a sustainable future. At least 80% of your contribution is delivered to vetted local groups and NGOs that support women and youth, preserve the environment and help small business thrive.
Looking for unique gifts created by local artisans? We identify select artisans in our communities and their traditional art can be purchased here and shipped anywhere. By purchasing their hand-made products you directly help them preserve their cultural heritage.
Travel will never be the same again. At SRDI we have supported sustainable, community based and designed tourism since our inception. Our own Black Sea Sustainable Tourism Program offers unique experiential trips and directly supports improved livelihoods.
We believe that in every community there are people who want to make their home a better place
SRDI Joins Land Rights Now
SRDI is committed to preserving cultural and ecological heritage. By joining Land Rights Now, we expand our support to indigenous and community land rights.
Over 2 billion people depend on indigenous and community lands to survive. These lands, covering more than 50% of the world's surface, include forests like the Amazon, the vast rangelands of Eastern Africa or North America, farmlands across the world, mountains like the Andes or the Alps, lakes or shores from Norway to Timor Leste. But, indigenous peoples and local communities only own 10%, resulting in the remainder being subject to land grabs, uncontrolled development and degradation.
This not only undermines the human rights of local people but also threatens our ability to achieve sustainable development, end poverty and fight climate change. SRDI is proud to support efforts to secure tenure for indigenous peoples and local communities.
Please Help Us Help Sri Lanka Today
"Our economy has completely collapsed”: Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, June 22, 2022.
Sri Lanka remains dependent on your help. Children are especially at risk due to the combination of climate change and the significant reduction of grain imports from Ukraine caused by the Russian invasion.
Please donate so that rural community organisations can provide at least one good meal a day to their children.
SRDI Ukraine Support Fund
On February 24, 2022, the dictatorship of the Russian Federation launched an unprovoked and brutal genocidal attack on Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting back. You can help!
If not now, when? If not us, who?
