WE ARE AN INTERNATIONAL NONPROFIT SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
We are committed to supporting sustainable livelihoods in rural communities and maintaining their cultural, social and natural environment.
We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one.
There can be no 'plan B' because there is no 'planet B.'
Make Cities and Human Settlements Inclusive, Safe, Resilient and Sustainable
UN Sustainable Development Goal 11
Our activities depend on the generosity of people like you. Your donation helps communities regenerate and achieve a sustainable future. At least 80% of your contribution is delivered to vetted local groups and NGOs that support women and youth, preserve the environment and help small business thrive.
Looking for unique gifts created by local artisans? We identify select artisans in our communities and their traditional art can be purchased here and shipped anywhere. By purchasing their hand-made products you directly help them preserve their cultural heritage.
Travel will never be the same again. At SRDI we have supported sustainable, community based and designed tourism since our inception. Our own Black Sea Sustainable Tourism Program offers unique experiential trips and directly supports improved livelihoods.
We believe that in every community there are people who want to make their home a better place
Wine, Cheese and Honey
Summer may almost be over, but there is still time to visit Georgia for the harvest season.
SRDI, through its Travel BSST social venture, is getting ready to offer a new cultural and culinary preservation adventure created by Bridge - Innovation and Development - the Georgia Cheese Road.
For the past year, Bridge has worked with small dairy farmers, cheese producers and communities from the village of Alaverdi to the high Caucasus towns of Tusheti to build modern cooling and preservation facilities, improve agritourism potentials, and provide hospitality and modern sanitary training.
Now they are ready to launch their Georgian Cheese Road for a cheese, wine, honey and handicraft adventure in rural Georgia. We'll announce the launch date here in the coming week.
We Have Not Forgotten - Sri Lanka
"Our economy has completely collapsed,” said Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said on June 22.
As the economic and social structure weakens, Sri Lanka remains dependent on your help. Children are especially at risk as the combination of climate change and the significant reduction of grain from Ukraine caused by the Russian invasion.
This is a continuing effort to help provide financial help so that rural community organisations can provide at least one good meal a day to their children.
