We are committed to supporting sustainable livelihoods in rural communities and maintaining their cultural, social and natural environment.

We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one.

There can be no 'plan B' because there is no 'planet B.'

Our activities depend on the generosity of people like you. Your donation helps communities regenerate and achieve a sustainable future.  At least 80% of your contribution is delivered to vetted local groups and NGOs that support women and youth, preserve the environment and help small business thrive.

Looking for unique gifts created by local artisans? We identify select artisans in our communities and their traditional art can be purchased here and shipped anywhere. By purchasing their hand-made products you directly help them preserve their cultural heritage.

Travel will never be the same again. At SRDI we have supported sustainable, community based and designed tourism since our inception. Our own Black Sea Sustainable Tourism Program offers unique experiential trips and directly supports improved livelihoods.

We believe that in every community there are people who want to make their home a better place

Travel slowly returns and the BSST Travel opens

The Black Sea Sustainable Rural Tourism has launched its unique, regional travel program where responsible travelers can book in-depth experiences in uncrowded community destinations in Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey.  We are pleased to present TravelBSST.

The experiences are community-designed and operated with help from SRDI to guide each in sustainable practices to benefit the community as a whole.  At least 80% of all traveller spend remains in the community and a seperate Black Sea Community Fund has been established that  allocates 5% of each booking to the community as a micro-grant.

As travel slowly returns beginning with vaccinated travellers, our BSST communities will be leaders in sustainable travel destinations.

You can also help our work to support rural communities develop sustainable practices with a donation here.
